Privacy Policy

Business: Machado Method Jiu-Jitsu Carrollton Governing State: Texas Effective Date: July 2, 2026 Last Updated: July 30, 2026

Your information stays between you and the academy. We use it to answer your questions, book your free intro class, keep you posted on training, and run the mat safely. We do not sell it. This website runs no advertising trackers and no analytics trackers of any kind. Text messages are opt-in, one tap to stop, and never shared for anyone else's marketing. This page lays out exactly what we collect, why, and the rights you have under Texas law.

We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising, and we do not profile you in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

5. SMS Messaging Program

Machado Method Jiu-Jitsu Carrollton operates two separate SMS messaging programs. Participation is voluntary and requires a separate checkbox opt-in for each program on our website form. Pre-checked boxes are never used, and consent to receive text messages is never a condition of enrolling or purchasing anything.

  • For help, reply HELP to any message, or contact us at (469) 465-9426 or [email protected].
  • Supported carriers include the major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Quiet hours: We honor your local time zone and do not send marketing messages between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM local time.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent are never sold or shared. Text-messaging originator opt-in data is not shared with any third party except the messaging provider that delivers the messages on our behalf. See this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service for full program terms.

6. Photos, Video, and Media

We photograph and record classes, events, competitions, and promotions at the academy. These images and videos may show students, including minors enrolled with parental consent, and we may use them on our website, social media, printed materials, and advertising.

If you or your child appear in academy media and you would prefer we not use it, tell us in person or email [email protected] and we will remove it from materials we control going forward. Enrollment paperwork includes a media release you may decline without affecting your training.

7. Sharing of Information

We share personal information only with:

  • HighLevel (GoHighLevel): our customer relationship management platform. It powers our website forms, online booking calendar, chat widget, SMS delivery, email delivery, and payment processing. Information you submit through any of those surfaces is processed by HighLevel on our behalf under contract.
  • Our website hosting and content delivery provider, which processes server logs containing IP addresses in order to serve the site.
  • Law enforcement or others when required by law or to protect the safety of our students and staff.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We do not use advertising pixels, conversion trackers, or third-party analytics on this website.

Note on where your inquiry is routed. Our website forms and booking calendar are served from a HighLevel account operated by our marketing agency on our behalf. Your information is used only to respond to you and to run our programs, on the same terms described in this policy.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We do not run Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, or any other analytics or advertising tracker on this website. We do not build advertising audiences from your visit.

The third-party embeds we do use (the HighLevel form, the booking calendar, and the chat widget) may set their own cookies or use similar storage that is necessary for those tools to function, for example to remember an in-progress chat. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them may prevent the booking calendar or chat widget from working.

Because we run no advertising or analytics trackers, there is currently nothing on this site to opt out of. We have not implemented a mechanism to process browser opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control, because we do not engage in the targeted advertising or data sale those signals are designed to stop. If we ever add advertising or analytics technology, we will update this policy and honor recognized universal opt-out mechanisms as Texas law requires.

9. Health and Emergency Information

Because Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a physical, contact-based activity, we collect health, medical, and emergency information at enrollment so we can train students safely and respond in an emergency. This may include relevant medical conditions, injuries, allergies, and emergency contacts. Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act this is sensitive data, and we collect and process it only with your consent, given when you complete enrollment. We use it only for student safety and care, we limit access to staff who need it, and we never use it for marketing. You may withdraw that consent by contacting us, though we may then be unable to allow participation in training.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal data and request access to it
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Receive a copy of your personal data in a portable, readily usable format
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, or the sale of personal data, or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects
  • Opt out of our SMS programs at any time by replying STOP

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] or (469) 465-9426. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

11. Texas Residents

Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), Texas residents hold the rights listed in Section 10. We do not sell personal data, we do not process personal data for targeted advertising, and we do not process sensitive data without your consent.

How to submit a request. Email [email protected] or call (469) 465-9426 and tell us which right you are exercising. We will verify your request using information already in our records. If we cannot verify you, we will tell you and may ask for additional information.

An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf. We will ask the agent for written, signed permission from you, and we may contact you directly to confirm.

Our response timeline. We will respond without undue delay and within 45 days of receiving your request. Where reasonably necessary, we may extend that period once by an additional 45 days, and we will tell you within the first 45 days if we do, along with the reason.

If we deny your request, we will tell you why and explain how to appeal. You may appeal within a reasonable period after you receive our decision. We will decide the appeal and respond in writing within 60 days, and if we deny the appeal we will give you a method to contact the Office of the Texas Attorney General to submit a complaint at texasattorneygeneral.gov.

12. Children's Privacy

Our programs serve children, and parents or legal guardians enroll and create accounts on their behalf. For students under 13, we collect only the information a parent provides for enrollment, scheduling, safety, and communication, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 through our website without verifiable parental consent. A parent or guardian may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us.

We do not sell the personal data of any student we know to be under 18, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not profile minors. Our website is an informational and enrollment site. It is not a social media platform or an interactive digital service that lets minors create profiles, communicate with other users, or share content publicly. See also Section 6 regarding photos and video of minors.

13. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and as required by law. Active member and student records are retained for the life of the membership and afterward as needed for billing, tax, and legal recordkeeping. Inquiry and unconverted lead information is retained for a limited period and then deleted or de-identified. Health and emergency information is retained only while a student is enrolled and for the period afterward that our insurer and applicable law require.

14. Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including limiting staff access to student health and billing records. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If sensitive personal information is acquired by an unauthorized person, we will notify affected individuals as required by Texas Business and Commerce Code Section 521.053, without unreasonable delay and no later than 60 days after we determine the breach occurred. Where a breach affects at least 250 Texas residents, we will also notify the Office of the Texas Attorney General within the period that section requires.

15. California Residents

We do not have a business presence in California and do not target California consumers. If you are a California resident and believe you have interacted with us, contact us at [email protected] and we will honor applicable rights, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. As stated in Sections 7 and 8, we do not sell or share personal information and we run no advertising trackers.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
